In this post we covered the trade between Seattle and Tampa Bay, in which the Rays sent RHP Nate Karns, LHP C.J. Riefenhauser and OF Boog Powell to the Mariners for 1B/OF Logan Morrison, INF Brad Miller, and RHP Danny Farquhar.

In my first article for Ball Eight, I examined the rise of the AL’s best young shortstops in 2015 and compared them to three AL shortstops from the mid-90’s that you may have heard of once or twice before.

This post examined a couple trades made on Thursday, which saw Braves SS Andrelton Simmons sent to Anaheim for two top pitching prospects as well as ageless reliever Joaquin Benoit sent to Seattle by San Diego for two low-level prospects.
